2024 Update
Long overdue for some updates. Since I last published, so much has happened. I will be brief so dont fall asleep quite yet. In ‘23 I switched from multiple years on OTK’s to Sodi Kart. I feel like every pebble I hit in the OTK bent the chassis. Seat stays are made of straw. But I had many great drives on them so no regrets. Sodi Racing has developed an amazing machine. The rigidity, braking ability, handling, and speed were obvious from the first drive. I couldn’t be happier than on this kart. DCT karting is a Sodi USA team now. We’ve seen tremndous support and love from Sodi Racing USA. Being under their tent at National’s is easily one of the highlights in my racing journey.
I have been focusing more on larger races. When summer stuff, travel, etc.. had me missing the regular AMP Summer Series, it just didn’t make sense to chase those points. I will always race there when I can. Its my home and racing family. Even won a cool night race at Lanier Raceway with Danny May and Lucas Arnette. I’ve been to Stars, USPKS, and SKUSA events on the Sodi in the last year. The racecraft and talent are next level. Humbling actually. But get in the ring and learn from it. In buckets.
It was in Homestead, FL earlier this year when I got tangled up three wide and flipped over. Despite the scare I gave my Mom, the kart, my suit, my helmet were toast. Oh yeah, and I broke my wrist. So ‘24 started awesome and had to hit pause. Huge thank you to the event and medical staff at AMR. The response ands treatment were superb. Thank you. 6 weeks in a cast and 4 more in a brace have been torturous. I did find a way to drive the SIM,( ALOT) but don’t tell the Ortho… End of April now and I’m one week left. I simply cannot overstate how much I want to be back in the kart. Looks like I’ll head to Trackhouse for the club race 4/10-12. Thank you to the racing village for well wishes and check in’s.
