Long Overdue Update
My apologies for the content falling off the cliff last season. I started a new school, life got busy, and my “good intentions” box never became finished.
Quick recap of the ‘22 Season: We had a good hold on the KA100 Sr Championship. But late race issues made the series very close between me and Gabe Spencer #240. It came down to the last race. With some slightly mysterious forces at play, we finished the last race P4. This tied both Spencer’s for the title. It came down to more second places to break the tie and the title went to Gabe. He drove a great season and earned it. Some of the best racing in any class of the entire AMP Season was the KA100Sr division. I am happy to have shared this with so many talented racers.
In the “Off Season” I have been very busy with school. I also got a project e36 that my Dad and I have been busting knuckles on constantly. The 2023 AMP Winter Series was a four race shootout. We ran very well and took that Title. I had one of the best races of my career in this series. I had to face Zach Frank and thats enough to make anyone a little scared. Race was epic. I was able to pass on the last lap and take the victory. Ah the highs and the lows of motorsport. I will link this race video on my socials. The last 8 laps are awesome.
The ‘23 Campaign kicked off at AMP in March. This is the full long series and we are in it to win again for KA100 Sr. This will by no means be easy. The field is stacked this year. Many drivers have moved up. The caliber of driver in this class is superb. Again, just happy to be in the mix. But Im aiming for the podium and not afraid to fight for it.
I was able to race the Orlando USPKS event in March. This is a large National Event with the best of the best from around the world there. The intent was to learn from them and experience the pressures of National racing. I cannot begin to say how freaking cool this was. Throttle cable issues took me out of two heats. But in the Last Chance Qualifier, the top 6 finishers advance to the 32 lap final. I snagged P6. In this final, I had to start last. The zen hit and I found a groove. Was able to pass 16 karts. Was awarded the “Hard Charger Award” for this and finished p31 out of 56. Overwhelmingly happy with this outcome. The race just clicked. Understatement of the year so far: I want to do it again.
As we settle in to the AMP series and a few GoPro events, I will update the results as they develop. As always, please follow the AMP televised series. The coverage has been tremendous. I will share the link via socials on race day.
We will once again run with DCT Karting and a Kosmic 401 RR Chassis. The ‘23 kart should be here soon and Im excited to break it in. Best of luck to everyone. The “village” here is second to none. So lucky to be a part of out and surrounded by so many great people.
